Djibouti Asla-Fialé geothermal project

Géo2D was selected, after a call for tender by the Government of Djibouti – Electricité de Djibouti (EDD) to write the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the engineering of the Asal-Fialé Geothermal Project.

The contract signed with AFD aims at contributing to the preparation of this project including the drilling of 4 deep wells amounting to US$ 32M financed by a bank consortium led by the World Bank. 

When the opportunity presented itself Géo2D emphasised that the projects aim of a géothermal reservoir of a depth of 2500 metres was prone to getting in contact with basaltic magma at that depth,on the other hand a high quality reservoir could be put into production at a depth of 600 -1200 metres.
